Well mine`s a bit different than your 4X4 project Full.
I want to get my 56 M100 in one piece and a road worthy truck again.
It`s in three or four different buildings. The frame is sandblasted and for the most part painted. A few more suspension parts to be blasted and painted so I can assemble it, run the brake/fuel lines and remount the cab.
Then comes the question of how the stock steering column will line up after the front 80 Merc clip install.
Hopefully I don`t have to move the engine ahead and it lines up without hitting the firewall.
Even if I can drive it this summer without it being totally finished I`ll be happy.

I would like to go through my '79 and check it over. Do a tune up, overhaul the carb, that sort of thing. I would really like to get that truck performing a little better, so if anyone has some tricks on how to get more power form a 460 I would greatly appreciate it ! I think I will put on a set of headers and 3" dual exhaust with some cherry bombs to make it sound good (and loud ).

thanks for askin

get my 1957 a good water pump
then I'll get my 1949 Mercury running and if goes well do body work.
After that in spring paint my 1957
Then do body work and painting on 1967 3/4 ton Ford and 1969 1/2 ton Ford
Then a 1953 Ford get running and swap parts from 2 trucks to make 1 good truck.
And whenever I find a spare moment work on getting my tow truck assembled.
Hope I can get most of this done by next January.

man snowking if i had all the room you have growing up id have just as many

right now I want to get my 79 bronco and myself out to SK...thats my current project status but in the future I'd like to get a 67-72 PU and try and turn my 79 bronco into what looks like a 69 PU, but keep the back roof the way it is

thinking i'd also like to get a 94 and up ranger/mazda as a daily driver, but I'm not too picky, so whatever comes up that seems like a good deal might be what I get for real

Do an engine swap in my 78. Take out the 460 and put in the rebuilt 390. Get it back on the road. Then park my 85 to start doing the body work on it and try and get it painted.
But alas I have too many home projects to do this year also. At least get the engine swap done this spring.

Hopefully do some resto work on the 79 F100 and maybe get at the 62 Merc unibody with any kind of luck. Always have time to do do more tinkering with the 77 as well. Have a built 351 Cleveland ready to install for the 79 and a basic body swap, just have to get to it this spring/summer.

Skidooman -- If you want some power from that 460, a set of headers and dual exhaust like your thinking, will really wake that thing up - especially if it is just single right now. If you want more, find a set of DOVE-C heads and bolt them on with an aluminum dual plane intake ,like a Weiand Stealth, and install a 750 cfm carb. Then you will get some good power. Change the cam while your at it, etc.,etc., can get to be more expensive than you want!! Those 460's are fairly easy to get power out of, and they have great torque.
I put thrush magnum glasspacks on the 77 with the 460 and it is pretty bloody loud with the headers, but sure is fun!! --Dustin you'd appreciate that!!

Some steering work, interior work on the Crew Cab, sound deadener and carpeting, locate or figure out a headliner, by the end of the summer hopefully have a wooden flatbed on.

not too much planned for the truck since i bought the sled.... install my chrome vent visors i got for xmas once it gets warmer, mount my sirius radio a little bit more permanent and look for a box liner ( those carbides on that sled are really scraping it up), i would love to do more or any work on my 74 but it is 3.5 hrs away and no place to keep it in the city oh well

Lets see where to begin?????
1) Get the strange noises out of the 84 4x4 and probably do a motor job on that one.
1a)Bodywork on the 84 also Its pretty ugly.
2) Motor change on the 80 4x4 got to rebuild the 351m or a 400 first
3) Get bike running better its got carb problems
4) Maybe look at the 76 highboy a restore on that will be time consuming
5) Maybe look at the 49 Merc grain truck
6) Build new garage that should be #1 I guess
7) abandon all hope on getting projects done and buy a new PSD

Another tip for skidooman. My 460 I put timing chain and gears in my 460 from a 428. It tightens up the timing and man does it increase the power too. My 16" tires were kicking stones up for over a mile after I did this. Just chewed the grid road in front of my place. Just too bad 2 years later dropped a valve. Busted the block.

[QUOTE=66gpw] My 460 I put timing chain and gears in my 460 from a 428. QUOTE] I think it`s supposed to read a 429 and not a 428.
After the early years Ford retarded the timing on the cam and the earlier engines had a better cam shaft timng for more power and better fuel ecnomy.
