99 Expedition 5.4L won't start on 1st try

99 Expedition 5.4L Eddie Bauer

This morning,

Starter worked, plenty of DC, but wouldn't turn over.
On 2nd try, turned over immediately.
Let it warm up, drove 3 miles.
Parked for 15 minutes.
Next attempt had the same result.
1st try no-go, 2nd attempt, started right up.

Next, drove it approximately 20 minutes. Parked for 1 hour. Started on 1st try.

Some info that may or may not be useful.
New Serpentine belt ~ 2 weeks ago.
Temperatures colder than normal, but parked in garage, Temp ~ 46 deg F in garage, 21 deg F outside.
Radiator flushed done 2 days ago.
Got slushed by another car yesterday, may have gotten wet yesterday due to snow / slush on road.

Any ideas?
I'm a little worried about taking my kids up skiing in this car right now.

Thanks in advance!

Update: I bought an ODBII reader and there were no codes being thrown. I suspected bad fuel. I had to do something, so I chnaged the air filter and fuel filter just to give me something to do, and tried to run as much gas out of it as possible. I refilled the tank with new gas and the problem seems to have resolved itself over the course of about 1 day. I'm thinking it was bad gas or water in the fuel. Could that produce the symptom in question?

Could be bad gas however if you are still using the same fuel and did not drain the tank or mix it with newer fuel, more than likely a clogged fuel filter. The pump can only push so much with a clogged filter. If you drained the filter after you took it off, and poured it into a clear gas jar you would know for sure. When the fuel comes out grey and full of little debris, you know it was a clogged filter.
