I'm looking for acomplete resorable 1949-1950 Ford 'Ranger' with Marmon Herrington all wheel drive. Hopefully a flathead V8...
Anyone out there know of one??? Email me! Thanks! JR
Rangers were first made in 1950. 35 of them. all had the V8 239. I have an article and some pics if you are interested. 6 or 7 were made in 1951 and 6 or 7 were made in 1952. maybe a couple in 54. there are only about 12 or 13 left on the planet. Mark
If I may add a comment to Mark's. We see every so often somebody in Hemmings, eBay, etc, that lists a MH panel truck for sale and calls it a Ranger. No so. Rangers are as Mark says, very rare and special. Marmon-Herrington panel trucks are themselves rare, and worth having, but are not Rangers.
Ilya - Do I remember right that this is tucked away in the northwest somewhere, and the guy won't say where it's at and won't say who owns it? What price range is it in, do you know?
This truck looks like a Ranger. The side windows look correct, and it has had the M&H conversion shown by the tag on the side of the hood. But it looks low to the ground. The front hubs on a lot of Light duty M&H trucks got broken, and were impossible to get so I suspect that the front axle was replaced with a stock straight axle, and the lift blocks were taken out from the rear, just to keep the truck going. If thats the case, I hope the extra parts were kept with the truck....... Or maybe I'm just seeing things. This is only the second 51 Ive seen. Great looking truck! Mark
Mark - There was talk of this truck I'd guess two years ago here or maybe on the BB site. An archive search would tell if anything more was said of it. Stu
