One of the previous owners of my 56 F100 took the tailgate chains off, welded up the holes in the bed sides and cut off the brackets from the tailgate. I'm looking for hidden latches and chains/cables. I've looked at the stuff from SoCal, Mid Fifties and Sacramento Vintage, but I haven't seen a truck with any of these so I was wondering if any of you have opinions (not us, we're not opinionated are we???), about the options. I bought the latches that mount inside the bed, one on each side. I wanted to tighten up the gate so it wouldn't rattle so much, they woked great for me, cost about $12.00 each from Mac's.
