1960 F-100 information?

About a year ago, I inherited my great grandfather's 1960 Ford F-100 pickup with the 292 (172 hp) engine, 3-speed (column shift), Custom Cab, 3.92 gears, etc. Although I am heavily involved in the restoration and modification of American muscle, pony and sports cars, this is my first Ford truck. The truck is all original right down to the factory radiator tag and the never rebuilt engine (doesn't even smoke). Like any vehicle with age, it could use some paint, new lenses, floor mat, etc. Does anyone know where I could obtain a factory assembly manual (if one exists) and a few catalogs from companies carying restoration parts for my year of truck? Also, me being the third owner, and the previous owners only using the truck once a month to once a week (max), the 15,400 miles on the truck may be actual (not 115,400 miles as thought). Is there any way I can do a title search to find the mileage history? I know Carfax does this sort of thing, but they do not do post 1980 vehicles. Thanks for the help.

Hi and welcome...here are some websites of companies that could help you in your quest for replacement parts...
http://www.vintage-ford.com/
http://www.dennis-carpenter.com
http://www.ford-obsolete-parts.com
http://www.lmctruck.com

You can purchase a shop manual and an owner's manual thru this site for your truck also.
Hope this helps...

Hello, You might also want to pick up an original 1960 parts and accessories catalog, and / or a 1960 Ford Truck Body, Trim, and Sealant Assembly Manual on E-bay. The parts and accessories catalog has exploded views, part numbers, Data plate info, etc. The body, trim and sealant manual has detailed pictures with "cut away" views on body, windshield, doors, bed, etc.

Here's another site with a catalog you can order. I have the catalog, and almost the entire thing is dedicated to the F-100/F-1. Woe to me that has a F-500. The parts seem a little pricey to me,.. but if you can't find em anywhere else,.. I think you could almost rebuild from just a frame with this book.
Good Luck.
