Amateur Radio Installation

I just purchased a used 2007 Expedition XLT last week, what a difference from my 99, and I thought that was a nice truck. Anyway, I was reading the owners manual and it mentioned something about installing amateur radio antennas.

Has anyone installed a radio and an antenna in a 2007? The only thing it advised not to do was to install the antenna on the drives side fender, which is where I usually install them. I am wondering whether it would be OK to install it on the passengers side fender cowl.

IF anyone one has installed a radio, where is the best place inside to mount. I usually install the radio under the seat and mount the radio head on the center console.

Any help is appreciated.

As long as your not pushing much power, it shouldn't hurt either location. You have a CAN dash, so EMI should be kept to a minimum around the cluster and radio.
