49 F2 pickup box

49 F2 pickup box
i recently purchased a stock, running 49 F2. pricewise, it was hard to resist. this was a farm truck, in fact was still being used in and around the farm. my problem is that its pickup bed has been been replace with a rather "unique" wooden grain box. i would like to mount an F2 stepside box in it.i understand that the F1 boxes would be rather short for these 3/4 tonners. which trucks and up to what year did they use the same type of box in the 3/4 ton? would a, let's say an F3 or 1954 F250 box fit? F2 bed replacements seem to be difficult to find, finding a similar box on a different model truck might widen my search area. help!
..and thanks in advance.

48-52 F-2 and F-3 beds are the same. As for later years you could use a bed from a 53-56 F-250 or 350, The bed style goes up into the early 70's, but got harder to find once the styleside bed caught on. Most of the trucks in the late 60's to early 70's that used the stepside bed in the 3/4-1 ton range were special ordered. You may run into difficulties as the frame widths were different.
