I use it at every fill up for my 6.0. I use their winter blend too. It definitely makes a difference. Smoother idle. Maybe a bit better mileage, but a don't run without it long enough to compare. It's economical compare to most other additives and I know others with plenty of miles using it with no problems. I also like their fill bottles with the scale on the side. So from me the get a very good.

Lucas even gets put in my kid's vehicles
Each of my vehicles has an individual bottle that gets refilled from the quart bottle, which in turn gets refilled by the gallon bottle. I've only bought the gallon bottles for quite some time now. (about $26 for the gallon)
I only skip putting it in the 7.3 when I'm running B99, and start putting it in again when I've refilled with dino juice.

I prefer fuel additives that are for diesel motors/fuel only. From what I saw on the summit.com website, all or most of this brand is good for gas and diesel motors????
Seems to me that each type of motor has its own "needs" and the chemicals that work to lubricate the pumps and injectors of a diesel motor are different... and the types of additives to keep diesel fuel running.... are different than for gassers???
I tend to be a Powerservice, Stanadyne or Howes supporter as these brands are for diesel motors ONLY!!!!
Any thoughts or concerns... or do people use because Lucas Company just states so????

I picked it based on the recommendations of truckers, big rig guys and especially a friend with a '04 6.0 F350 with around 70k on the stuff. He used it since new, some pulling a trailer, all with zero problems. The fact that truck stops carry it and some big rig guys swear by it didn't hurt either. I heard comments like “you don’t need anti-gel down to 20F if you use it.” Which has held true for me. And “double down on the regular if you can’t find winter blend”. Apparently they all used it for quite a while and had the impression it improved fuel mileage too. This I can’t attest to since I always use it. Add that it’s cheaper than the other brands and it has been around for quite a while so if there was a problem it would be known by now. The fact that it mixes with gas doesn’t bother me. If it keeps the system lubricated and cleaned I'm happy.

I've used Diesel Kleen and was happy with it. I've only heard good things about the Stanadyne and Power Service stuff too. As far as my 7.3 goes, I've put the Lucas Injector Cleaner in with B99, so I'm sure it mixes fine with any biodiesel percentage. Now I only put it in when I'm filling up with regular diesel, since the bio seems to be an even better lubricant.
I like being able to put the Lucas in everything. Two of my three kids drive their own vehicles now, so with the wife's truck, my two trucks and a spare car, that's six engines that I have to keep alive.

I use DK right now until I can order some winter formula lucas. The DK I am sure is a good product however I don't care for the packaging and it looks really thin compaired to the Lucas which I know has nothing to do with the chemical make up. The Lucas I also like to being able to use it in anything I own. I did try to email lucas with some question and it would seem that they don't answer email.

what about "cetane boost"
Hey all,
I too use the Lucas UCL, and will for some time since I bought a few gallons when Pilot truck stops had it marked down to $19.99 per gallon. I feel a difference in quicker starts and smoother idling, and probably some mpg although have not been tracking that closely lately.
My question to those that may have researched this lately is, what about Cetane boost? One thing that the Power Service DK has on this product is Cetane boost of 4 numbers (I think), which should be a good thing. Have not tried to call Lucas, but their packaging does not mention Cetane at all, and I know it's used on gas/diesel both. Just wondering...
