What exhaust for my 85 f350 460 7.5l
I am searching for an exhaust kit for my 85 f350 460 7.5 4x4 and I cant find one. I thought I found it at Summit but they tell me its not for the 460. Anybody have any clues? I would like a dual exhaust if its in my budget otherwise just a single. or maybe a single into a double

Hello Matt:
I also have been looking for an exahust system for my 1985 Ford F-350 w/ 460. Not a lot out there. You can try looking at this link: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fd/0043.html. It is a single that splits into duals under the bed. It is for CAT back, but neither you or me have CATS, so I do not know if this could be directly connected to the "Y" pipe w/o modification. Of course the one that is for the 460cu is for years 87-96, but I thought it may give you some ideas.

My truck has the same equipment on it as yours does and I'd been searching for a good exhaust for a little over 6 months for it. The fact that our trucks don't have a cat on them is a blessing as the cat costs the most for a good system.
In my area, I was quoted $340 for a complete, true dual, with H-pipe, 2 1/2" exhaust dumping out the back fabricated and installed with Magna-Flow mufflers. I guess it all depends on your area for pricing, but that's ballpark without a cat. Just make sure that you KEEP the Non-cat sticker on your truck when you get an exhaust system put on because by law, they have to put one on the truck unless it show's that it is/was a Non-catalyst truck from the factory. And trust me, they will not take your word for it, they need the proof or it's a nice big EPA fine for them if they get caught.

Thanks, I think it wil run a little higher in SE PA, but not too much more. My price is going to go up since I want to add DT Tri-Y's. It is nice not having CATS, they are not on mt 86 F-250 from the factory either. The funny thing is, my 85 F-360 w/ 460 has the smog pump and no CATS fro the factory. I also do not have the Air tubes going into exhaust manifolds. Even when we put over 5k miles or more a year, it still passed PA inspection (both stickers). Would this have ceom from the factory w/o the air tubes or do you think the previous owner removed them? It obviously came from the factory w/o CATS, but my exhaust manifolds do not have the holes for the air tubes.

Thanks, if you look at Big Hoss's gallery (he'is a few post up in this thread), you can clearly see the air tubes on his orig 460. I just don't have them. I just did not know if they came from the factory w/o them (on mine and yours) and what were the conditions that they would be or not be put on by the factory. Thanks again my friend.

I actually still have the factory manifolds on the truck. Money was running really low towards the end of the engine rebuild so I couldn't get them then. I just took the AIR tubes off the manifolds and plugged the holes with 1" long plugs. They don't interfere with flow, but I'm still going to get some headers in the spring to help it breathe a lot better and give me some more torque.
