48 TO 52 FRAME REPLACMENT
I have '50 mounted on a 1983 Ranger with a 302/C4. Email me at copeina(No Email Addresses In Posts!) and I will send you a paper I wrote describing the process in good detail.
The process is quite simple and inexpensive if you have a scrapyard nearby to scavenge parts from.

BTW... I had originally mounted it on a 1975 F100 with a shortened frame. The body mounted great, but it was up in the air like a 4x4, and the steering would have been a pain to setup.
The '83+ Rangers have a better angle for the steering box, so the steering shaft can go strait through the firewall at a modified angle without the use of universal joints. As well, the stance looks a lot more natural on the smaller frame.

Interesting as stated below. This is my setup and it looks and works great. I have a 6 inch lift on it with 33 inch tires.. I have only seen this setup twice since I bought the truck ten years ago. Depending on what you are looking for there are many frames you can use.
