PINOUT issue - Ford removed a wire! Can't program using FLashpaq

Hey all....

I blew a turbo on my Excursion 6.0 and took it into Ford... they warrantied, but now I can't use my Flashpaq to re-program.

They removed a pin from my connector and taped it back!!! SOOoooo... anyone have a pinout chart for that plug?? Or, how about I tell you the color and you tell me which slot it's supposed to be in?!

HELP!!

The wire looks to be purple....
With a flashlight and it being dark, it's hard to tell.

Why don't you take it back to them and tell them that you can't use your programmer anymore?

They should fix that POS under warranty. Did you tell them they could do that?
Your truck came from the factory with all the pins in place . I would stand your ground and make them put it back or tell them you will get lawyer .

PS if you didn't get I'm making fun no pun intended.

Hilarious...

Now how about some help in the right direction?!
...step away from the keyboard, grab your keys, and see where the purple wire is plugged into your connector. Obviously going back to the dealer is a joke and I'd be laughed at from service bay to sales floor.

Are you sure that you just don't need to get an update on the tuner? The last time I sent my truck in I had to send in tuner. Actually updated to the flashpac and it went right in. You should be able to update over the internet with that tuner.

HEHEHE... 1MILLION percent sure.

I've already been talking to Superchips for the past 3 weeks. We've done it all... TRUST ME!

Did you miss the part about me finding the one wire pulled from the connector?!?!?! ... I checked the backside of the connector (at Superchips direction) and saw 'new' electrical tape. Removed the tape and wha-la... the mystery wire. Once I plug it back in, to the correct port... I'll have no more E-2F errors and be able to re-program.

so... my next thing to do is visit a friend's '05 6.0 PSD and see where his is connected.

You're lucky it wasn't me... I never do anything that obvious when I disable the PCMs flash capability ... But then again I only do it to those that deny using programmers...

Just checking Johnny. Wanted to make sure all the bases where covered. If I had the same year truck as you I would go check. Mine is an 04, I can check when I get home maybe the colors are the same.

I'll post tonight after I get out to the barn.

Sure if they say they don't use a programmer they should never know they can't use it right ?

It goes back to that Irony thing.

Why would you do that? I wouldn't take the denial personal. Think of it as lying through you to Ford. You're just the messenger, you know, the middle man.

I finally got my truck back and went and took a look (mines an '04, but wires should be the same) and the purple wire is in slot 13 (the #'s are written on the black casing) it sits right next to a red/white wire.

Guys... got it. I found out that some of the plugs are different, so I inspected very carefully and found the lil' mark that a sharp object put in my plug when they removed it....

Plugged her in... and wha-la! FIXED!!

Thanks for all your help.

And CanadaGuy... "Lucky"?? No, not really... I'd not buy, live or even be in Canada, so no chance you'd ever get your hands on my rig. ....and altering a vehicle in a way not designed, is an illegal act. I'd own something of your's... if it wasn't your job if you touched something of mine.
