what exactly is FW15 ?

i did a search and can not find it on here. I know I'm supposed to add FW15 to green coolant - but what is the purpose of it ? And where can I find it ?

It is the coolant additive. Duh, like you didn't know that. Many have just switched over to the type that does not require an additive like the global final charge Wally world sells. If not wanting to do that, get it at the dealer. It raises/maintains the rust inhibiters and reduces cavitation from what I understand. Also maintains the proper acidity.I will be going to the final charge myself.

Have you tested your coolant with the test strips?

I got my test strips and the coolant additive from Genos Garage, Links below. I hate going to the dealer for anything, just a pain and much easier to buy on-line.

TNT, that duh was directed at myself as I realized I had simply repeated what you had asked. I sometimes poke fun at my own responses.

I'm not sure. Perhaps the local international dealer. I have not had to get any. Read this thread while we wait for someone who might have bought some locally to advise.

It is very cheap, even from your local dealer (about $7). They should have it in stock at all times!

just go to the ford dealer. i think they are back to calling it vc-8. just ask for the diesel cooling additive. they will know what you are talking about. it is the same price as anywhere else. you need to test your coolant before you put it in so you dont add too much or not enough. for the test strips i got mine at www.dieselmanor.com i think each bottle raises your level .6 units or close to that so depending on what your level is at right now you will have to add the right amount. its about $8 a bottle. any more questions just let me know

TNT, why do you say you have none in it? Have you tested it or have you done a flush and put new in with no SCA?

Gottcha. Stand by.

OK, I would say it depends on what you put in there. Here is one of the better articles I have read on the subject and the cooling system as a whole. I just relearned a few things browsing it up.
