SCT Xcalibrator 2 Tuner any experience?
I have a 2004 F-150 Heritage 4.2L with a few mild mods. Exhaust, Intake, larger tires. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with the SCT Xcalibrator 2 tuner on the 4.2L engine. I have been reading a lot about it and have found nothing but good reviews...just wondering if you guys had any real world experience with it.
How did you like it? Worth the money? Performance gains? Fuel Mileage? Overall impressions? Where did you get it? Any other info greatly appreciated.
Also did you use the live link feature? And what were your thoughts on that?
Thanks

Off the top of my head I know Troyer Performance wants $499 and Jusnes Modified wants $399. They both come with three custom tunes and I believe the one from Troyer comes with the live link software which allows you to data log on your computer from your truck.
I will keep you posted on what I find out.

All of the X2s from any SCT dealer will include the live link software for datalogging. Its most common use is to monitor A/F ratio after specific mods, and to try to locate a problem you may be having, but after that, youll probably never use the datalog feature. Ive been using Xcal2's for years, and only used it once just to make sure it worked, haha.

Bob,
What kind of performance gains can I expect with the Xcal 2 with my setup?
Do I have this right?
1. I order an Xcal 2 from you and you create tunes based on my specific setup
2. I reflash my trucks computer with one of your tunes
3. I use the live link to data log and send the results back to you
4. You analyze the results and modify the tunes from there or recommend other mods that may be beneficial

Your steps are correct! As far as the actual gains, im not sure, since BamaChips has those numbers, Ill try to get it from them as soon as I can and let you know.
As far as other mods go, you can just follow the same route as the V8 guys, exhaust, intake, efans, etc. The BamaChips tuner will give you the most power out of everything, and as you get new mods, just let me know and Ill send you new tunes if needed, free of charge.
