2x4 versus Original Equipment
All right guys...duct tape boy has me rethinking my previous statement...
Do I go back to original/"correct" battery installation, or keep it as is/the way it came to me...with that beautiful 2x4 battery hold down?

Wood is good, there is no doubt; but something about cellulose fibers atop a lead-acid battery bothers me... think twice about those so glib with your fire insurance!

Don't really have an opinion on the 2x4 but I do think you're looney.

Actually, it's kinda like a shrine to Mr. Ford. Since the original Model T had alot of wood in it too. Right Century? You were there weren't you?

I voted for wood.
That's like ripping a ******** off of a man. You don't take away that which IS the truck. That's how it became '2x4'
