Dashboard bezels
Hi Steve,
Ford had a special tool just for that purpose, but it's very easy to make one yourself from a small piece of tubing. Just cut or grind two "ears" into the end of the tubing. What you will have is a screwdriver that will fit into the slot on the bezel, while fitting over the switch shaft.
To remove bezel.......
First you have to remove the **** by using a small allen key. Once the **** is removed, place your removal tool over the shaft of the switch, and the two "ears" into the two slots of the threaded center piece. Unscrew counter clockwise and it will come right out.
You could probably unscrew the bezel center with two small
screwdrivers (one on each side of the shaft), but I wouldn't recommend it. It will almost certainly "bugger up" the bezel nut.
I hope this helps you.
