1990 Ranger starting problems
I have a 90 Ranger 4x4 with the 2.9 EFI motor. The problem I'm having is when the truck sits for more then 4 or 5 hours it does not start. This problem started all at once and here is what it does. When you first try and start it the starter will crank over and over and not start. It does this even if you turn the key to the on position for a minute first. After the 1st atempt to start it will start right up and stall no more then a second later. It will do this anywhere from 6-12 times before it finally starts and idles, but once it starts running you can't give it any gas for a minute or it chokes up and stalls. Once it runs for a minute it runs absoluty perfect with no problems. I have changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel regulator, and the plugs, wires, distributor cap, coil and rotor are all less then a year and a half old. I also have 35 pounds of fuel pressure. Anyone with any ideas as to what the problem might be or what to check next would be greatly appreciated!

When did you measure the fuel pressure to be 35 lbs? When it wouldn't start, or after you'd gotten it going?
My first thought was the IAC (idle air control), but that wouldn't fit with it stalling if you feed it gas once it gets running.
