Finding an econoline Pickup.
I am still in search of a 61-67 econoline pickup. What are the best ways to find one of these trucks. Are their websites that are dedicated to selling them or specailty sites? Or do i just have to spend lots of money on auto traders and deals on wheels untill i find one? Also which model year is the best and which model year will accept a V8 the easiest? Also do you have to switch to an automatic if i do an engine swap for a V8 or can i still have a manual?
Thank You

Just keep an eye out, there was one here at the local Ford Dealer, they had used it for parts deliverly, but it sat out back until the owner retired and I do not know where it went. There is also one sitting out in a flield on my way home with some other junk. So keep looking. I did have a friend that put in a 390 with a C-6 trans in a Econoline van, mid engine with a short drive line, if you don't mind a engine in the bed this would work. A manual would take some thinking, a hyd. clutch would work, but the shifter linkage would be the problem.
I'm sorry I don't know much about these trucks, but I have seen them with 5 windows and with 3 windows. Good luck on your search.

ebay, auto trader, craiglist, and all the other little sale papers are one way. yahoo has a few groups dedicated to the first generation econoline. you might join a couple of them and see what you can find.
a lot also depends on where you are in the country. both coasts seem to have several around, but the middle of the country is a little thin.
if i here of one i will let you know.
