COIL spring ford part number??? for plow package?

I'm trying to find the actual ford part number for the heavier front springs that come with the plow package? The dealership needs either a part number or the VIN # off a truck with the plow package in order to find them. thank you!

you won't find one. the f-150 was not made with them and ford does not recommend the truck be used to plow snow.

This is what it says in the manual about plowing with a F-150:

SNOWPLOWING
For F–150 snowplow applications, Ford recommends the F–150 4x4
Regular Cab and SuperCab equipped with the 5.4L engine, Heavy Duty
Payload Package and Snow Plow Prep Package. F–150 SuperCrew and
Harley-Davidson F–150 are not recommended for snowplowing and the
Snow Plow Prep Package is not available.

With that said, and from a person who has spent MANY hours behind a plow, I would recommend a Super Duty for plowing UNLESS you are only doing one or two driveways. The F-150 is NOT made to plow snow and you do NOT want a lot of weight on the front-end.

Just my opinion...

Thank you for your help. I Am not worried about plowing with this truck. I'm only plowing a few driveways, And our city has a bunch of these f150 and have had very good luck with them. They go though less ball joints and front end parts than the superdutys they have. I also owned a 2004 f350 and plowed commercially. so i do know that they go though ball joints like its going out of style, same with every other superduty in the area that people put plows on. (still great trucks though).

Also, i have gotten a hold of the fleet specs for these trucks and the difference between the heavy duty 8200# GVW version and mine is just the front coil springs (It would have been the extra heavy duty radiator and transmission cooler and the coil springs, but with the trailer tow package, you get the heavy radiator and transmission cooler, and i have that package also)

They put plows on everything from S-10 pickups to f550s. The f150 IS not a small truck. If my neighbor can put a small plow on a nissian titan or toyota tundra, i can put one on mine.

OH yeah, i already talked to the dealer and had them aprove this. (they did so pretty easily when i showed them the difference between the ones with the plow package and without.) They said they would be happier if i got the springs though. they also typed it up and signed it. thank you.

I had a plow on my 03 f150 supercab with no problems whatsoever. It is a lightweight plow that Western makes called the Suburbanite. Fisher has the same plow called the Homesteader. Its a full featured plow and works very well if you are only doing a couple of driveways. I put no special equipment on my truck and it didnt so much as squat when i raised it up. When I bought my 06, i transferred all of the equipment over. This will be my 3rd year with the plow and I love it. Now if you think youre going to hang an 8 ft plow on it, good luck

thanks for the info. it is funny you said 8ft plow though, because thats what the city here uses on their f150s. they have had no problems at all, (i called our city garage and talked to the people in charge of trucks and fixing them, or bring them to the dealer for warranty repairs.)

not saying i'm putting a 8 ft plow on my truck, but it is nice to know they hold up to it though.

thanks again! i'll have to take a peak at the plow you are talking about.

you can go on either website, but for what you want to do its perfect. even though its lightweight, the blade hydraulically locks down to scrape the ground. hookup and disconnect couldnt be any easier. ask either website for their dvd to show how it works. its free. youll be impressed and your truck will thank you for it

Correct Part Number for Heavy Duty Coil Springs?

I stopped at the Ford dealer Parts Department today. I told the guy I have a 2004 F150 SCab 4x4 Lariat. I told him I wanted to install the same heavy duty springs that Ford put on the 2004 F150 HEAVY DUTY 4x4 from the factory. He said there is a list of probably fifty spring part numbers. He said he would need a vehichle vin number from a HEAVY DUTY F150 4x4 before he could find the correct heavy duty coil spring part number that I want. Can anybody tell me the correct part number for HEAVY DUTY COIL SPRINGS that will fit my 2004 F150 4x4 Lariat? Also, would anyone be willing to let me use their vin number form a HEAVY DUTY F150 4x4, if for nothing else just to verify that I am ordering the correct coil spring. Thank You guys for all of your help so far to help me get to this point. If I can just get the correct part number and a vin number from your Heavy Duty 4x4 I'll be all set. Thanks Again!

either a 4x2 or a 4x4 HD F-150 will work for the part #'s....so that will give you a bit more options when trying to get a VIN #.

the only difference between a "normal" F-150 and the HD is the springs. Every other component is identical.

Here is a slightly older thread were we discussed this subject in detail.
but to sum it up, here is the part # you are after, and a when you cross-reference it against Parts Guy Ed's website, you get the part # that Jim Allen provided you.
www.partsguyed.com
Here is the part # for those springs. It took me awhile to find them again. A member on another forum has a huge bumper that weighs about 200 lbs. He installed the HD springs to counter-act it. Not a bad upgrade for about $120 IMO

Awesome! Now if I just had a HD VIN NUMBER

You guys have came through, once again! I have just about all the info I need. I still would like to have a vin number off a HEAVY DUTY F150. I am going to try and buy them local if they will come close to TASCA's price. I just know the parts guy is going to want to cross check part number 8L3Z5310Z with a HD vin number. If anyone would be kind enough to provide their HD F150 VIN NUMBER I will be forever grateful. Thanks Again!
Hey, My 2 inch AutoSpring arrived! I am getting closer!
