question about my superchip

hello all, First off, FTE is awesome!!! i have a 97 f-250 psd auto 4x4 and I just bought a superchips max micro tuner (model #1705). This model had a diagnostic code reader built into it. My question is, should i trust this feature? or should I take it to a shop when I have a problem? thank you very much in advance.

Yes it is a very helpful tool when diagnosing a problem.

I would always try to diagnose a problem before taking it to the shop... Come to think of it I'd rather just fix it myself!

all the superchips tuner does is read the codes the PCM is shooting out. so it wouldnt matter if you take it to the ford place and have them read the codes or take it to autozone and have them use their scanner. you could also get a code reader from actron and yet again its the same thing. what matters is what you do with the info the scanners give ya.

That code will come up when a tuner is loaded on a truck, because it removes the stock programing from the truck and replaces it with its own. Nothing to worry about.

I believe it has mentioned elsewhere in this forum that this same code is relavent to haveing batteries disconnected as well as the KAM (memory )in the compute needs a little juice to power up for codes
