Rear End Question.......for my truck
I have two 10 Bolt Round rear ends, one from my 67 F100, which, I believe, from reading the tag on the differential has a 3.25 ratio. I also have a rear end from my donor 76 F100 and it has a 3.00 differential.
Here is what is on the differential tags for each.
67 Tag
WOM-H or WDM-H
3 00 9 344D
76 Tag
WDM-AG2 6CC
3 25 7AD 313
Opinions wanted.
What is the better one to have. I'm not hot-rodding, yet, but daily driving to work, etc.
Thanks,
Rob

According to the tags, your 76 diff has the 3.25 ratio. The newer axle is wider than the pre 73 axles so if you install that, you'll get rid of that pinched look in the rear that the early trucks had. The spring perches will have to be relocated on the newer axle to match your rear springs as well. As far as ratios, the 3.25 will give you more get up and go than a 3.00 and will still be good for highway cruising.
