repainting aluminum wheels
Hi all, I bought an extra set of wheels for the mom-mobile and want to paint them like the ones she is currently using. I want 2 sets of tires, she really likes the current wheel and color.
So what brands/types of paint are durable and easily available. I don't mind doing tons of prep, I do mind re-doing that prep in the next 12 to 24 months.
TIA, Mike

I know it isn't the same situation, but here is what worked for me. Aluminum rims on a Ranger that looked terrible - lots of salt under the clear cloat. Sandblasted them and shot with POR-15 wheel clear paint. It has been at least 6 years and they still look great. I couldn't get the Al polished to be shiney, so I shot it directly after sandblasting. It looks like a satin gray. Not sure if the POR-15 wheel paint can be tinted, but it worked great for me!
