Getting rid of paint-thinner smell

Ok, I had my paint spray equipment in the back of my mini, and the spray gun was full of paint thinner (I had just cleaned it).
Anyway, a bit of paint thinner spilt out into the car, and it REALLY smells, to the point I almost feel queasy driving it.
I have left it about 2 weeks now trying to let it air out - but it doesn't seem to want to go.

Any ideas how to get rid of the smell?

Thanks

Lay down newspaper over the spill area and put a bunch of loose charcoal briquettes in there, on top of the newspaper. THEN let it sit for a while.

Or, toss in a match.

LMAO, a match would solve the problem real fast. You would also get a new interior look too. Its called charred fabric black

I've heard that (fresh) coffee grounds absorb odors really well. I haven't tried it, but I bet it would smell better. Best wishes. Rob

A few drops of vanilla extract in a gallon of paint is supposed to kill paint smell...may be it would work here?

Before doing that, try rubbing in a bunch of kitty litter (not the used stuff ) then vacuum it up. hopefully that'll pickup any chemical residue.

Get a couple of buddies and stop by the local pub. Feed'em sardines , hard boiled eggs and beer, then take them with you in the vehicle for a 3 hour drive about. The paint thinner smell will disappear and not be noticable any longer.

Not hard-boiled eggs--SCOTCH eggs. Don't forget the Reuben sandwich with extra sauerkraut.

Putting some baking soda in the area of the smell (enough to nearly cover the nap)
ahd leaving it there for a couple or three days will get rid of a lot of odors. I wouldn't
put it on a wet area, unless you try it on a unseen area first. Just vacuum it up
afterwards.

I meant to add - there was no "wet patches".
The paint thinner dried up as soon as it was spilled, but just the smell remains...

A dog penned up inside the vehicle for a day will cover up the smell also.

A little gasoline will cover up other smells also.

Febreeze will get rid of some smells, but not dog smells...

If the smell is making you sick then all the solvent is not gone. There are still solvent fumes in the vehicle. Remove the carpet and padding. Wash the carpet and pad at the car wash. Allow to dry. Replace the padding if it can not be washed.
