Checked my First tank of fuel!!

Got 14.19 on last fill up without any additives. That was pulling 2 loads of oats (around 16,000lbs) and a couple of tractors one weighing around 7500 and the other around 5000. Plus a couple trips back and forth to work and here and there some short trips. Not to bad i didn't think. Need to get that gear vendors working. Seems as soon as a bought a diesel the raised the price to 3.20 a gallon . What do some of you guys run for milege? From what i looked up i'm running 4:10 gears open diff. ZF5 tranny 4x4 7.3 turbo.

I get around 16 daily driving and 20 on the highway. Hopefully I'll gain another 2 mpg with a K&N filter and a bigger exhaust (currently 2", going to 4"). Truck details are in my signature.

Wow you guys seem to get much better mileage than I do:
16 mpg hwy (empty)
11-12 mpg in town
8 mpg towing 8-9000lb trailer

Seems like I should be doing better than that......hmmm...any thoughts?

I drive with a light foot with the fuel prices these days!!

truck details - 1994 7.3L TD, E4OD, 4x4, 3.73 ratio

Could be that the fuel screw needs to be tweaked in a touch. But I would think dialing the fuel down loses power, too, unless it was delivering too much in the first place. I don't know everything about it, though, so I'd do some searching on this board first.

My 1992 F-250 ZF5 4x4 at high altitudes struggles to maintain 10 mpg. I step on it everywhere though. If I am conservative I see a 1-2 mpg gain, so not that great.
