I just measured my fathers powerstroke today at 44" from bellhousing to front of radiator. Now assuming that that is true for the IDI I will next get the length of the early Bronco engine compartment.

it doesnt in any way shape or form. an np205 has a cast iron case it is gear driven it can handle way more power then a 1345 ever could. The front driveshaft is chain driven on teh 1345. It also uses atf and has a pump in there and if the pump goes out your bearings dont get any oil and ur t case goes by by

you can get a adapter for a np205 for any ford tranny that bolts up to your motor. I am running a t-19 with an adapter for a np205 and i found an adapter for the z5-5 and 6 those run about 500 a peice tho. They are alot cheaper for hte t19

Wow! ZF 6 speed to Np 205...match that to custom drive shafts, dana 70, dana 60 front and your close to bulletproof. For my budget I will not go ZF anything-just T-19

The 4bt's were piles you will be better off by puting an idi in there. first off parts are a lot cheaper and redily available. And you have a site like this to come to for questions there aint that many good cummins sites. Another thing is cost. You will save a lot more money puting an idi in there. Put a turbo on the idi and you will be way happy. just my .2 cents

I can get a 6.9 for hundreds of $ or free, for $525 pump, turbo off junked diesel, $$ on repairs I can have a torque beast capible of well past 1000 ft/lbs of torque or 700-800 ft/lbs dependably ( want 400-550).

or
I could spend 2000$ + on a 4 cyl. I have found that too. the only thing I like about that motor is that it fits, diesel, inline. I would be better off with a ford 300 and 10 mpg I think.
