When it comes to oil and air filters...it is hard to beat Motorcraft for quality and price. So, I say stick with OEM on the V10.
However, Castrol oil is great stuff too. If you can actually find it in a 5w20.

My mind is still unmade about this stuff. I might switch to 5w30 and see if the oil pressure comes up at all. It's been a rock steady 24 lbs hot-idle in 75-90 degree weather with the 5w20. And it's noisier on startup than the 5w30.
Mileage seems to be the same. I just put the oil gauge in a few months back when I switched from 5w30 to 5w20, so I have to change back to 5w30 and see what the oil pressure is like. Also, I have a Fram XG2 (silicone anti-drainback, all metal internal construction) on it now, I bought a Motorcraft, but haven't had the time to change it... I'll report back when I do.

Here again, MotorCraft 5w20 synthetic blend oil, Fl820S MotorCraft Oil Filter, and I run a wix air filter and fuel filter. Napa gold filters are also made by wix from what I've been told. Haven't heard anything on hastings in quite some time. I have genuine wix as the nearest Oreillys carry wix on hand.
I have actually even started to use MC 5w30 in the wifes chevy since its one of the few synthetic blended oils that is still reasonably priced. I used to us Castrol synthetic blend but last fall it took a price jump and I refuse to pay $14 for a 5 quart jug when I can get MC for under $10 and to boot it has shown on oil analysis that the castrol is no better oil than the MC, go figure!

No confusion Monsta, he inquired about Wix and/or Hastings filters in post #5. I was just adding that I used Wix and all was well!!
OEM is fine if that's what you choose. So is the aftermarket in my opinion as long as you use quality filter's. Just my .02. Good luck in whatever you choose.
