What is the pros and cons of disconnecting EGR?

 

No gain or loss. No benefit or downside (other than the CEL being thrown as on my 06)That's what I've come up with reading the various threads on the 05 and 06 modles. 03 and 04 are in a different world though. Like I said that's my take on reading through the posts from the last few months.

 

Does that mean there was a design change for the '05/'06? What makes the new ones better. I have a late MY '06 and have contemplated disconnecting mine.

I am right with spycatcher. From my reading, which I have been most interested in this as I have an '06 also, the '05 and '06 MY don't need to be disconnected as they had a design change. I decided not to disconnect mine. Do a forum search and read up. It'll take a while though. LOTS of posts on this topic.

 

The short answer...do the '03 / '04...make the '05 / '06 give you a reason.
