Exclamation Need some help with a couple of things

ok, i just bought a 93 lightning with very low miles. my first question is does anyone know what offset i would need for a set of 17x8 wheels (i believe that is stock size). Also i've noticed that the speedometer jumps around between 60 and 75. how do i fix this? finally the truck has been lowerd about 2" in front and 3" in back and since the drop was done the front tank has not worked properly. i've checked to see if there was a recall on my truck and according to the dealership there isn' a recall for this problem. any ideas on what it could be or what i can do to fix it?

offset can be found like this.

Measure the distance from the rotor to the nearest object in the wheelbay. rotate the wheel lock to lock and measure again. The distance that you get is the maximum backspacing.

The speedo jumping might be the gear in the tranny, if it was an old truck. It being a new truck I'm not sure.

what are the symptoms with the tank not working? Do the gauges work and not any fuel flow? no fuel guages? I'd check the connections, and make sure the fuel pump is hooked up. Might have been something that the guys doing the lowering forgot to hook back up.

The jumping around of the speedo is probably the VSS It collects metal filings and throws off the speedometer reading. It can be removed and cleaned.

Agreed....pull it, check/clean it, re-install it and test.

Congrats on you GEN 1 purchase.

Also, here is a link to GEN 1 engine, driveline and chassis specifications, by Brain Baskin.
