Truck rally organization

Ok I've aquired some maps. If anybody is interested, perhaps we can map the interest and if we have enough clusters then we can organize a few different sites. Also we can plug in places that already have established rallies such as the supernationals.

Tell me what you think.

I could make the Topeka event (if that's what the star on the Midwest map indicates), or the Des Moines event if there is one. I really don't know how to translate what your maps may indicate unless it's for general knowledge for those who don't know their U.S. geography.

I used to live in Santa Barbara, CA. That'd be a great town for a truck rally. Very scenic, right between no. cal. and so. cal., great strips to cruise, empty twisties nearby for the sporty folks, and it's a college town so there's plenty of "scenery" and bars. How's that sound?

I'd like to add my 2 cents. I live in the midwestern town of Evansville Indiana. About 100 miles west of Louisville Kentucky and home of the very famous street rod event, FROG FOLLIES. Last year it drew over 5,000 rods every August. If you're looking for a possible place to hold a rally, I'd like to suggest a look into our town. We've gotten cars from as far away as Alaska and even Australia! our big 4H grounds hold the even every year for the last 27 years and it keeps increasing in size. Heck, even our local Wal Mart has mini truck and hot rod shows in its parking lot. I think that alot of people around here are car and truck nuts. Highway 41 and 64 run through Evansville and just a few miles north is *gasp* Toyota's new truck plant with a new Lexus plant going in soon. Just a suggestion, but I think that there would be enough interest if FTE are planning some type of Road Rally. I would seriously love to attend, but can't make it to places more than 100 or so miles away. Thanks for the space and hopefully we'll see a Ford Truck Rally right here in Evansville.

Jeff - You probably want to go to the Texas Chapter and try to get together with some of the guys there. The posts here are a year old, not to say that's bad, but that is what Ken set up the state chapters for.

Good Luck getting something started!! Maybe I will come out to see yall some time when I go to Dallas...
