Hi Al, there are a few down here! I am from Franklinville, what parts ya need? We got lots of stuff laying around! If we don't have it we can find it! Drop me a message and I can get you my number, nice weekends we head out to the junk yards in search of parts.
Up in Tinton Falls theres one with alot of Ford pickups. "Bills auto" right on SWIMMING RIVER road. There are some pix of them in an albu, in my gallery.
Well, maybe before it gets too cold, I'll head down there and we as a group can look around. I'm sure I could pass a few hints at Tom and see if he wants to waste 1/2 a day or so down there. We could have lunch, coffee, or whatever afterwards or something.
Junkyards are fun... though my favorite on is 2+ hours away so I don't go too often.
Glad it's a u-pull-it. I'm allergic to the other kind.
fred, that sounds like a good idea...and Bill and his guys are real freindly types, and there is a great place to eat right down the road..."the grist mill" It would be a great way for us 'Jersey' guys to meet and hang out! There is a Parkway exit not far...and rt 18 is near by too...ooh......I cant wait!
you guys make me wish i could drive that far right now. walking and driving i'm good for a very short time. but i'd love to do some junk yard walking been a very long time for me.
Well Captchas, you're welcomed to split your trip in half.
When we figure out which day to do this, you can drive here, and I'll drive the rest of the way since I figure I'm probably about in the middle. I can also pick up Tom who's barely more south of me as well, and we can go down together.
This way your driving is split up, giving you a chance to rest.
My broken foot is well enough to drive, but like you, walking around a junkyard for 4 hours isn't doable, so we can take a quick gander through, then sit and drink coffee until everyone else is done, then head over to the diner.
At least this get together will have an automotive theme - junkyard!
I can do sat/sun next weekend.... after that I'll have to wait until early November, but then it's going to be brutal cold. I have thermals so I'm not worried...
I still miss "Kobers" in washington, NJ. But that's been gone for at least 15 years.
