B99 ok to run?
well....yeah, so diesel is expensive now... but luckily there is somewhere up here that has biodiesel for 3.15/gal in the B20 and B99 mixes. its ok to run my truck on straight B99 right? 220K on the motor. i don't know what the price is on my normal diesel stop but a week ago it was 2.95....so bio is lookin pretty good at this point. besides, i live in eugene now...i have to help the environment right??

Hey Red, I've heard/read that the B-20 is fine for the OBS trucks but the B-99 is no good with them. Something to do with the gasket or O-ring material in the OBS trucks not holding up to the stronger Bio. If you go with the B-20, replace your fuel filter after a tank or two because that stuff CLEANS your system out. You'll be amazed at the amount of crud that gets removed. I've been running B-20 with great results for over a year.

i was also going to make a similar post.
i am going to get bio this week in olympia. its 3.00 a gallon and #2 is 3.20 and rising. i have been reading the bio forum in here lately trying to learn as much as i can.
if you are in eugene oregon there is a guru on the bio in that forum in oregon somewhere he helps everyone and also sells it or makes it one of the two. i helped/ met a guy up here that runs b99 in his obs with no problems. i am kinda worried myself. i think i may start out at the lower percent and see how she likes it first.
chapguy what orings are you talking about? if its the injector orings i am good to go as i got the updated ones.
about time you updated that signature isnt it chapguy?

hmm, i could probably use new orings, buti'm really procrastinating as i don't really feel like pulling injectors right now... so maybe i'll start at the b20 first and see what happens. what forum is it exactly with the bio guru? the bio forum on FTE? i've never really checked in there, been really busy past few months. if i could find someone in eugene that made it i'd behappy to spend a few hours a week there helpin to get it cheap.
side note: they recently changed over all the Pepsi delivery trucks to biodiesel. pretty cool idea i think. all the trucks have a "powered by biodiesel" sticker on them.
