I like it, then again I'm a Chevy nut. Seems the gauges are chrome trimmed of some sort. I'm just glad the shifter is back on the steering column where it belongs. I'm hating the GM and Ford trucks with them on the centre column.
The headlights are a great improvement in styling compared to the last few years. Seeing the new Tahoe in person, I think the trucks are generally an evolution of the last GM style, not a bad thing in my book. Dodge did the same thing, while the last couple of F-150 redesigns were a clean break from the past.
Don't like the way the crossmember hangs low. The front end looks like a fish, and it stinks . The interior looks way to plain with chrome rings. Not a truck for me.
Personally I think the front bumper and grill look a lot like the Super Duties and the headlights have a similar theme. I agree that the high hip line is not a good looking feature on trucks.
I drove one yesterday and they are a bunch better looking than the 2006 cat eye crap. If you like the outside looks of the Yukon, you'll like the new Chevy. The interior is still too much GM glitz for me. I prefer the simple gauges not the white faced, overlapping type. While I could comment on the performance, the one I drove had a 345 HP 6.0 in it. Probably not the usual fare for most folks. It will light up the tires though. Seat of the pants testing says the Hemi doesn't stand a chance. Cornering was pretty decent, not much roll, a little busy in a washboard type situation. I think it is a much better truck than the one it's replacing. But, you won't mistake it for another brand, it's still a Chevrolet.
