89 Bronco II - blowing bulbs

My 89 bronco II keeps blowing brake light/turn signal bulbs on the rear drivers side. I do have have tail lights though. its just that my brake/signal does not work. I have changed the bulbs twice already. They work one minute and blow the next. Could i have a short some where? help?!

is it just blowing the bulb? what about the fuse? it sounds like you may have a short, check the socket for corrosion buildup, and always use the special grease on the bulb when replacing

Maybe your ground cable is bad or the harness has worn through. I think the ground cable is behind the lamp assembly and attached with a screw to the sheet metal. You might want to test or replace the socket itself. There is no stress relief for the harness, it just hangs there so I can see it developing problems after miles of vibration.

The first test is to test for a short at the battery. Then I would wait until it blows and then put a test lamp on the socket.
