Timing chain cover gasket

Hi all,
I have a 02 ranger w/ a 3.0L V6. I went to the dealer today and they said that I have a coolant leak around the timing chain cover gasket. I can see the coolant leaking off the bolts and can smell the coolant burning. I was wondering how difficult it would be to replace that gasket. The dealer wants $700+ to change for a $50 part.

It's not too incredibly difficult to the best of my knowledge. Lookin' at the procedure for the earlier engines (up to '00), it shouldn't be overwhelmingly bad, you could do it, though it will probably take a good bit of time.
