High Pinion D44

I found a high pinion dana 44 with 4.09 gears and nice locking hubs with the big dayton brakes under a 78 bronco.

I can't find brake pads.

I dont think the axle is stock to the bronco. What could it be from?

Sounds like the brake pads from a '78 f250 would probably fit nicely. My '78 F250 CC has dual piston Dayton calipers on a Dana 44 (Dana 44-9F) high pinion front end.

Is it 8 lug or 5? If its 8 lug it probably has had dual piston calipers swapped on from a F-250.

It was on leaf springs. The entire front suspension seemed extremely home made. Probably why it ended up in a junk yard.

It is 8 lug with the dayton two piston calipers.

It's a 3/4 ton axle set up so you need to ask for 3/4 ton 4x4 brake pads. Make sure its a D44 and not a D60. The D60 will need different pads, I think.

Yea, I guess the leaves would kinda give it away huh? RTM and Tjay are right, sounds like you got the same axle I have under my 250.
