Tank of Gas

Ok, we've talked about the price of gas and the fuel effiency of our vehicles but here's a new question. I thought of this when I saw my new Visa bill and realized it's all gas.

How much are you spending on a tank of gas and how long does it last you?

I've spent about $55 for the last several fill ups. Plus or minus a day a tank can last me a week. I live in the country so everything is at least a 10 minute drive.

I`m about the same and also have a 10 minute drive into town. Looks like it`s going to be more soon. Our gasoline price is $1.079 today.

When I fill up it is usually around $35-40. That will last me two weeks if I drive until the gas light comes on. My tank is a 50 L tank and I usually only put in 40 L or so when the gas light is on. Big reserve...for a Focus!

I spend $40-45 on gas for a fill.. Usually last at least a week, sometimes almost two if I am just driving in to work, and not class.

Maybe I should look at tradin' in my Explorer for a Focus. Can you get an 2DR AWD with auto trans.? That would be cool if there was a WRC edition Focus.

I have a Geo Metro for my daily commute so I get about 500km for $25 in gas. My F150 gets about 250 km for $40!

I used to have a '95 Geo Tracker and I could go 325km on a tank for about $30. How big is your tank that you can go 500km?

The Metro is a lot smaller than the Tracker. It is about the size of a Mini. It is a 1L, 3 cylinder motor with about a whopping 50 HP!!, so it uses very little gas . I generally get between 45 to 50 miles to the gallon.

My Toyota Echo gets about 700km on a $30 fill.

After it's first trip, I can say that my new ride (the Freightliner) gets about 1200km on a $720 diesel fill.

By my calculations, I could legally load 23.25 Toyota Echo's (by weight) on that Freightliner, which makes the mileage pretty similar really. It's all perspective isn't it

My tank is kind of small for a truck. A fill a up is around 60-65litres, although I have squeezed 70 litres into it if I really push it and run on fumes for the last few metres.
As it is I can go three days on a tank of gas, 4 if I just go to work and back with no side trips. I live in Ajax and work in Toronto so I am a slave to the 401, traffic kills me. I pay around $350/month for gas, but at these prices it will jump to $400/month.
If I had to make payments, it would be parked more often.

I'll spend between 40-45 for gas. That will last about 9 days. Driving to work and back plus week-end running around. That will change if the gas keeps going up. May have to look for a second means to get around -- that Focus sounds good!
