hesitation in carter 1bbl carb

my 1bbl carb on my 240 6cyl has a bad hesitation in it. Ive tried replacing the accelerator pump but it did not help. i know that is the carb because i had another one that i cant get adjusted but has no hesitation. Anyone have any suggestions??

I have been trying to adjust my 1 bbl to run smooth ever since I got my truck 9 months ago. I rebuilt it myself and then paid to have it professionally rebuilt. It still runs lousy. Maybe it is just me but I have had it with my carter carb. I am saving up for a new intake manifold.

I had trouble with a carter 1 bbl when i had an '85 f-150 with a 300 in it (non catylitic non emission motor :-) I just got an exchange carb at the local parts place and it cured everything. That was about 5 years ago, and it only cost me $50 cdn at the time, so it was an easy fix.
