I'm trying to replace the door lock on my '69 Ranger. Any tips/clues on how to remove the door panel for access to lock? Need any special tool? Thanks for any advice or help.
If that panel is the same as the lesser(non ranger) trucks you should just need a phillips screwdriver and a 3/8 nutdriver to remove the armrest, none of these d*mn clips to break like the newer trucks. Hope this helps
There are clips that you need to worry about. After removing the armrest and door opening handle plastic plate the trim panel which covers the large access door is cardboard fiber backed with push-in clips and they slide into slots on the backing.Start at one corner with a putty knife and pry outward gently (you'll feel where the clip is) and ease it out and just continue all the way around. The chrome mldg around the door comes off the same way.The rest is straight forward.

Thanks, I've been dealing with the clips with needle-nose pliers...pretty tedious. I wasn't sure if the outer trim needed to be worked the same way or not.
