ABS light on?

With my Expedition, it was the variable speed sensor on the rear differential.
Fixed it right up.

This is an extremely common question that about two minutes' research will help you resolve.
SEARCH keywords "ABS lite" or "ABS light". Try the advanced SEARCH feature and include my username.
Tip: Include the quotation marks.

2000 Ford Expedition - ABS light
Hello All. This is my first posting and it comes in the form of a question.
'00 Ford Expedition 2WD with Front and Back Disc brakes w/ factor tow package.
Problem: ABS light stays lit after a 1 or 2 second delay when turning key to cranking point.
Diagnosing Performed: Inpsected Calibers (no damage), replaced brake pads for all 4 wheels (very worn). Checked brake fluid (no leaks present from master cylinder to brake lines) The 50 AMP fuses is good. I disconnected the negative battery cable for several minutes to try to reset the system. (ABS light persistent)
I have not done much driving since replacing brake pads which may or may not be required for system to process the change.
I suspect a variable speed sensor, but I'm not sure if I have RWABS or 4WABS or the where they would be located?

Was told that the driver side sensors was bad and I replaced both the rear and drivers side abs sensors and still the light stays on.. I disconnected the battery (pos side) to reset the system and still the light stays on. Can you reset the system for the abs light some other way???? Thanks

You will need to have the ABS computer scanned to see why your light is on. It appears from your description that you have 4WABS which requires the proper scanner to pull codes. As these scanners start at around a grand, you'll need to locate a well-equipped shop that has the correct scanner or see a Ford dealer.
The codes does not give you a component to replace, it is a data point in the diagnostic process.
