Tranny help on 02 supercrew!

I have an 02 supercrew w/auto overdrive.... During regular driving in 2nd gear... it acted like it sliped out of gear then in gear. It drove fine on the way home. When I got home aqnd tried to back in the drive, I had no reverse.... I changed filter and fluid already, still no reverse....whats my next step? valve body, module....help!!!!

Welcome to the forum

There is nothing electrical that can cause no reverse. A valve body problem causing it would be extremely rare. Unfortunately I think you're looking at an internal failure and the transmission will have to come out and apart.

what other gears are missing.have seen the sun gear shell break and cause this problem.

I had the same problem on my 01 5.4L. At 39k I lost O/D and it shifted funny. I went to back into my space at work and no reverse. I swapped trannys since. When I have some free time, I will crack the old tranny to see what failed.

Thats what I was affraid of....anyway its on the way to the shop in the morn...Thanks alot guys for the feed back.... I will let you know what happens!!!! Thanks again.
