How is everyone doing? It's starting to get warmer outside anyone got any projeccts planned? Haven't heard from a few guy's in awhile so I hope everyone is doing okay. I don't want to have to come hunt anyone down but I will.
Not much going on here. I need to wash my truck, and looks like I'll be cutting the grass soon. Anyway let's here from everyone.
Everyone check out the window sticker thread, they are available now.
A big thanks to codyjoe for getting these done for us.

Well, same ol' story around here, the Cummins project is now on the road, kinda... just gotta get the license caught up now. After some tuning on it, it is fairly impressive to drive. Gets right up with the program, smooth power all the way to road speed, kind of like driving a straight truck with an allison. I guess I'm too used to having my stick... pics are here for those who want to scope it out.

Didn't really count the hours, but it has been in process for over a year, but would go for long periods without being touched. All the little details take a lot of time. The motor swap itself wasn't bad, the things like getting the dual tanks to work with the diesel fuel lines after taking the pumps out of the tanks and all that kind of thing is what has been eating up the last few weeks. Most say 100 hours to do the swap, I suppose that could be right. The fabricationof the motor mounts, alternator brakets, intercooler mounting and radiator mounting is what took the most creative thinking and time. I also added the Gear Vendors overdrive at the same time, and that took some hours to figure out. Got lucky though, as usually I would have had to make a custom drive shaft, but it worked out that the Ford rear and the Dodge front driveshaft were perfect, no cutting required. I was shocked... I'm really liking that GV overdrive though, really makes a difference. Without it, the truck would top out at 60... of course, I don't have the Dodge overdrive in the trans working, and no current plans to make it work, although running by itself, it would be nice to run double overdrive, but I don't want to risk damaging the trans. From what I have read, the overdrive is the main killer of those Dodge trannies.

Shoot, now that I've got all the work done to the PSD in the cold temps, it's getting warm. Oh well. At least I can enjoy driving it in the nicer weather, but I'll probably spend most of my time on the bike when it's warm.
Fellro, did you check into the stuff that fordcummins.com has for the motor swap to make things easier. I figure I'm eventually going to blow up my PSD, and if it windows the block, I'm strongly considering putting a Cummins motor in it. Just wanted to get some feedback on the fordcummins stuff.

Ford Cummins has a hefty price tag on their parts, more than I was willing to pay for. They want $270 for motor mounts I built on my own for next to nothing, reusing the Dodge mounts. The adapter plate to bolt the cummins to the Ford bell runs $700, I just used the Dodge trans. For info on these swaps, check out cummins-conversion.com, many of us there are either have-done-its or are researching doing it, many good pics and such for getting ideas.
Going to KC tomorrow, unloading a car, be nice to have the money and be rid of a recurring expense... would have to move the meeting east on me...
