Lets see your bed rails.......

Looks like I found a couple of different ones....
PUTCO makes them....
1.) Putco Boss locker side bed rails......
2.) Putco SSR Locker side bed rails.....
Which is better? ALSO --- On my 02 Screw --- I'll have to remove the stock plastic bed cover trim pieces on both sides of the bed, correct? Do these just pull off?

I have not gone here yet, but think i can help on one of your questions.
Factory plastic top rail caps. I do not see where you would need to remove them unless you intend to replace them with something else. From what I read, the rails mount into the stake bed holes (if available). If not available then a drill type mounting kit is required. If your 02 is anything like my 99, the plastic rail caps have a series of locking tabs molded on the underside of the cap cover that fits into long rectangular slots cut into the top rail of the bed. If you look inside the bed just under the top lip, you should be able to see those on that side of the cap. The other side is accessable from under the truck between the bed and outer side wall of the vehicle. Looks like they just "snap and lock" into the slots when pushed down. My guess they would be somewhat tricky to remove without 6-8 hands and 2-3 helpers unless there is a special "V" shaped compression/push tool to aid in removal.
