What's a 63-ish unibody worth, + where to find repro tailgate?

Got this thru some wheeling and dealing and was wondering what the going prices are for these as complete trucks, and parts. Also need to know if there are reproduction tailgates available, this one has seen better days. The body is in good shape, some small areas of cancer, dash is complete etc etc. What is it worth?

That depends on a whole lot. from just judjing from the picture, I'd say $300 to $400 tops for the whole truck. maybe more broken down for parts. But what I see is a 6 cylinder badge on the hood, 2 diffrent width front tires, a rear tire thats unseated from its rim, saging springs, especialy in the back, and missing trim. add that to your statement of rust and bad tailgate, and it wouldn't be worth much here in Texas. But I'm making alot of assumptions, like that it doesn't run, and that it is actualy a 6 cylinder.

On the plus side, it is a Unibody. More details would help.

it has a 460/C6 in it, a tire is flat, the bed is full of stuff (why it sags lower) and I suspect it has been lowered. I dont plan to sell it as is, it will get 4 matching tires and have the turd polished up a bit for the buyer.

It would be worth more parted out than it's worth as it sits.
I paid $50 for my long bed (running) and $500 for my short bed (that I parted out).
New tailgates are available from DC for $400, stamped from the original Ford tooling dies.

The uni gates are not domestically produced. They are imported and placed into a DC box.

No matter who you buy it from it will arrive in one of Dennis's boxes. The remaining parts for the uni are also being produced for the gate, including the latches. supports and hinges.

From the picture between 500 and 1000 would be a reasonable price as it is a custom cab. Hopefully the rear aluminum trim is there as it is really hard to find. With it being a Cali truck you can get them cheaper there than here on the right coast. That truck would bring around 2000 to 2500 here in the shape it is in possibly more for the right person.

It has some desirable features. it's a shorty, has a fairly good '63 aluminum grille, it's got a 460, it's lowered , and it's a big back window. The BBW alone pretty much doubles it's value. If it runs good I would say you could pull 800-1000 for it.

Dennis's tailgates are made, I believe in Brazil, from the original Ford tooliing that was sent to Ford down there after the Uni was done here. It lived on down there with a similar style box, split from the cab for about 3 more years.

The hood symbol was the same on all 61-64 Fords, gear and lightning bolt. The V8 hood ornament did not appear on V8 trucks until '65
