CPP= Clutch Pedal Positioning switch. Truck wont start unless clutch pedal is engaged.

Sorry, but I can't help - never had to mess with it at all.
I'd be having to figure it out same as you are.

Cpp Update

...easy peasy japanesy... followed directions in the Chiltons... popped right out. Typical over-analysis on our part *hmm looks easy we don need no stinking book*.
But......did not fix problem. DOH!!! It starts... sometimes, no particular ryhme or reason. When it DOESNT start, it push starts very very easily... 10 yr old daughter can push it enough to fire up.... Now Im lost... figure its gotta be some electrical Gremlin somewhere, everything else seems fine.
Any suggestions?????

my 2000 did that also. It was the starter solenoid on the firewall. If you havent checked that yet, i would do so. When its not starting just cross the solenoid. List anything that you have tried also so we can eliminate that.

Next time it fails to start, check for power at the small lead on the starter relay in START.

No power = CPP or ignition switch.

Has power but no crank = bad starter relay.

Well followed the directions in the Book. Did the jumper wire tests. Starter Solenoid is bad. Of course they dont sell it separate.. Thanks for the input y'all... Chris

*Update on the Update*
It was NOT the CPP switch, it was NOT the Battery, it was not the relay, it was NOT the starter, it was Not fuses, IT was NOT a loose or dirty connection.... But I still dont know what it IS.

Jump starts most of the time (very little effort).
But will not start using key (doesnt even crank). SOMETIMES it will start (with key) after disconnecting/reconnecting the battery. Seems to work on twice, then I have to disconnect/reconnect the battery again.

Followed ALL the check lists in the book. verified all connections. Mebbe the new starter is bad too... gonna, take it down to autozone for a electrical system check. But Im at a loss here.
