KubotaOrange76,
How much does that bed weigh? Has anyone thought about jacking the bed up enough to safely cut an access hole in the bed large enough to remove the filter assembly from the tank?

Might be doing the H/H on a friend's dually soon. Since it is a southern truck, might be easier to take the bed off.

I need to do it on my truck but haven’t gotten to it. It also has an auxiliary tank or we would have removed the bed last fall and done it. A little intimidating because I have never done either and not sure what I’ll be getting into. Always like watching the progress of these. 👍🏻

I saw posts from one guy who used a saw horse to the back and moved the bed back onto it to do the job and another guy who pulled to bolts and just jacked the front of the bed up enough to get in there. I'm not sure what they weigh but I'm thinking something like #400, I took one to the junk yard with some other stuff and the whole shebang didn't weigh much.

Kubota you sure make short work of this stuff. Nice job so far. I may have missed it but do you have new hardware for the bed.

I thought about years ago when I pulled the bed off of mine. But there is some major cross frame pieces in the way.

This was the method I used. Took out forward bolts and loosened the back 2 a good bit. Used a floor jack and a couple of different 2x4s. I used other blocks to support the bed in the "dump position" while I worked on the tank.

I was alone that day but with a buddy probably don't even need the floor jack, just lift on each side and slide blocks under

Nice work! That lift sure makes short work of otherwise big jobs. Someone must have redone mine, because when I did it two summers ago, everything was intact and the screens were clean, but the fill tubes had been cut? Anyways, I redid it all the right way. I still get air bubbles though. I prolly need to recheck those tank connections. This is also a great way to install a B&W hitch for those that don't have one.
