new v10 from ford?
auto week has a write up in it dated 1/08/06 about the new super cheif at the detroit show.
it's tri flex fuel. super charged v10.that looks like maybe a twin cam from the wide valve covers. maybe v.c.t.
on edit maybe those are covers over the vc's

It's great that Ford has a long term plan for the V10 but the Tri fuel V10 only uses the Super Charger in the hydrogen mode according to the article Captchas emailed me,
If I remember right the super charged hydrogen V10 they now use in some airport shuttles only make 185 HP so I hope this one has a lot more power than that.
Pretty interesting and I am glad we are going to see our V10 engine around for quite a while yet.

I see a lot of cues from GMC's Terradyne concept for a number of years ago in that "Super Chief". I, personally, am not too fond of the exterior styling but the interior sure is a cool design exercise. Those ottomans coming out of the floor are pretty cool. Silly: but cool none-the-less.
I wish our engines looked that nice.

looks like a electric clutch on the blower to engage it in hydrogen mode .so it should only need a power source switch added for always on use. but no matter how we look at it ford is trying to get a big jump on the flex fuel line up of motors, how about that tilt nose for serviceing it. cool
this one truly paves the road .

I compared pics side by side again and while I see no obvious styling cues between the two. The wheel arches are different etc. etc. They still seem to follow the same direction. Could be the thick body, high beltline and short greenhouse design all the while both wearing 24's.
I do prefer the Ford's design as the Terradyne of years past looks like something out of Hollywood's Robocop. But it sure has soem cool features.

Monsta, thanks for the link.
The triple fuel (or two at a time) will possibly work like my propane 454 Suburban did in the early 80's. Running unloaded or towing on a mild grade was OK...for serious grades I would have to occasionally flip the gasoline switch.
I'm Charlie's age. My wife told me a couple of days ago that my current F250 would be the last truck because she figured it would outlast me.
It looks like I'll probably get the trifuel truck when it comes out. I figure it will only delay retirement about a year.
