holley 4160 throttle shaft leak
i just rebuilt my holley 4160 and noticed that there is gas leaking from the throttle shaft. it is dripping from the passenger side - opposite of the linkage. the rebuild kit i got from holley included new seals for this, but to install them you must remove the short screws that are staked on to the throttle shaft itself. i'm not sure i want to do this. it makes me nervous thinking that the screws i reinstall here could get sucked into the motor. that is why they are staked on in the 1st place, correct? is there some place i can just get a new throttle shaft assembly (the whole assembly that has the throttle linkages) for this carb? i've checked holley's website but have not found this part, although they seem to offer every other conceivable part for their carbs.
the list # is 1850-3

If I remember correctly, there shouldn't be any gas flowing out of there. It usually means that gas is continually flowing into carb. bore while its not running. Gas lands on the closed throttle plates, and then finds its way out the shaft. Also make sure thats where the leak is coming from.
They use to sell the base plate by itself. I don't know if they still do or not.
