hydraulic surge brake parts needed
I am working on a home built tri axle trailer from the 70's with surge brakes. I cannot find new wheel cylinders. The only ID is K-Y cast into the hubs. I was thinking Kelsey-Hayes axles? They have 12" drums and 14.5" moble home rims. Does anyone out there know were to find brake parts for these axles?

You could start by measuring them in all dimensions. Once that is done, you could flip through a catalog for a match.
I am repairing a trailer from 1971 and tha parts I ordered from JCW/Northern Tools are exact matches. Much has not changed in the 30+ years except General Tire no longer is an OEM for USA made tires and hubs. Plus, I doubt you could find a bearing made in the USA anymore.
I imagine once you take measurements and pictures, you could source much of the stuff from places such as www.dexteraxles.com.

Years ago I had to do a brake job on a 1942 Dodge army truck and couldn't find parts.
Are the cylinders pitted beyond repair or can you clean them up with a hone?
I went to the local auto parts store and went through their bins to find the correct size cups and seals to rebuild the wheel cylinders. Took a while but you should be able to find something. Stay away from the chain stores and look in the old parts houses that used to sell individual pieces instead of prepackaged parts for weekend shadetree wrench busters.
I miss the old days.
