IAC fun

Well my 00 expy 65000 miles has been acting up not starting unless I run the throttle. Simple has to be IAC that was my first guess. It does not do it all the time. So saturday I replaced the IAC with a new motorcraft one. I did notice it was different then the old one, the old one had spring between the plunger and valve, called the dealership to make sure the spring was not missing well I took the only one is stock so they could not double check it so I slapped it in. And tried the old one putting power to it right from the battery and it sticks unless I pryed on the valve open so I figured I got it. Well it is doing the same thing again. I have been searching for and hour and half and IAC keeps coming up. So what is next fuel filter? Some mention Crank Shaft Postion Sensor. Any help would be great. I work on construction equipment but I am kind out of my element on cars. Any help would be great

Has the fuel filter ever been changed? Have you cleaned the MAF? Checked for vacuum leaks?

My wife's 03 Explorer EB 4.6 is acting similar. Runs fine if I'm with her but she said it is completely stalling out, daughter backed her up.

Took in just before 36,000 mile warranty was up and dealer replaced IAC. Fine for about 1000 miles. Now at 37,500 miles is doing it almost daily.

I bought an aftermarket MAF sensor but not change to this stalling. Fuel filter never been changed that I know of. Would this cause intermittent stalling?

Don't mean to hijack your thread but we may have the same gremlin.

Well I did check for vacum leaks I was going to do some more tinkering with it today but the shop is full so. But I think I had a combination of problems. I am not sure but I think the IAC went out and then I think my remote starter and anti theft maybe playing apart in the fun. Since I have pulled the keys out of the ignition it starts everytime. So I am not sure I will have to tinker more.
