Post your filter costs.

I just dropped the truck off at the dealers for the 30k transmission fluid change. ($199) flushing/ recirculating machine.
The dealer wanted $144 for fuel filter change. After seeing filters for $29 on e-bay, I cancelled the fuel filter change. Please post the cost/quailty of the needed filters and how much your paying, so we can help members and I, know what filters costs. I am new to my 03 diesel truck and I trying to learn the filter costs.
Thank you in advance! Bill Knight

Oil filter?
Fuel filter?
Air filter?

Check the Tech Folder for changing instructions.

Personally, I buy the OEM Motorcraft/Racor fuel filters from O'Reilly's for $61.99 and install them myself. I drain the HFCM at the same time.

Oil filter - Motorcraft OEM, $19.87, ChinaMart
Air filter - Donaldson Powercore, OEM, $81.99, O'Reilly's
Fuel filter kit - Motorcraft OEM/Racor, $61.99, O'Reilly's

I was in "ChinaMart" earlier this week and compared the Fram ($15.97) to the MC ($19.87) and found them to be identical (same exact print & markings) except the Fram was sealed in plastic and the MC wasn't- So I bought 2 Fram.

I actually would not use a Fram if it was given to me. I had one fail on my jeep, and saw the results when one failed on a cherry 64 1/2 mustang. Since I have seen test comparisons. An old sock would be as effective.

I purchased 2 air filters, and 4 oil filters from ?? FILTERS.com or some such place, they were o.e. ford, and price was like $120 with free shipping. I am now out of oil filters and have only one air filter left, so I need to find this supplier again.

The "identical" Fram has been discussed in several threads. It appears to be manufactured by the same company as the MC- In Germany. If the MC was in the plastic shrinkwrap and the Fram wasn't, I'd probably spend the extra $.

Another classic example of opening mouth before knowing what your talking about. Don't bother to respond, go to China-Mart and look for yourself. Its made in Germany just like the Motorcraft is. $4.00 cheaper though.

Ditto on the Fram oil filter. Identical as far as I can tell, and shrink wrapped to boot. Save the $$

I agree with the others about the MC and Fram oil filters. The patent numbers are the same. Also the air filter is now available at Wal-Mart for $64+ (from Fram).

Be sure and post the supplier when you find it. That's what I have been looking for.

Pitchinfool:

I just ordered 4 truck oil filters, 4 oil filters for the wifes car, 3 for the jeep, and a fuel filter for the truck from fleet filter. Total cost was $107 with shipping. They are WIX filters badged as NAPA gold, top of the line filters. To my door was three days. As b_dub indicated, about $11 each for oil filters. Plus, they are a sponsor of this site.

03 F350 6.0, 4x4, 6spd; I get oil and fuel filters through shopdiesel.com. There is a brand called raycor. The filter part numbers are identical to the motorcraft number on the filters. The oil filter is around $20, $16 for a case. Fuel filters are around $40-$50. Heck of a lot cheaper than the dealership and you are getting the same filter.
