Question lights in steering wheel

Does anyone know how to change the bulbs for the cruise control in the steering wheel of a 2001 explorer sport ??

i dont think they can be changed you have to change the whole button i bought mine for $32 for one side from the dealer you can try rockauto.com the sell alot of them dealer only items for cheap prices

Search this site. I believe the bulbs are replacable.

no they are not hard too replace diconnect the battery wait a few minutes pop the two plastic covers on each side of the airbag take the two screws or maybe nuts off remove the airbag ( be careful with the airbag ) remove the two screws on the button unplug and reverse to install

Is it safe to remove the airbag ?? I heard they could go off on you, and are very expensive to replace. Not to mention getting hurt.

yea its safe as long as you wait 5 to 10 minutes after you disconnect the battery before you start working with the airbag because the air bag has a back up battery that last a couple of minutes after power from the main battery and after its out just handle with care always place the black side up when setting it down
